Last Run before Winter: Beaver Creek Park - Havre, Montana

Strecthing from more than 50 miles, Beaver Creek winds her way northward through the Bear Paw Mountains to join the northernmost tributary of the Missouri, the Milk River.  This stream acquired its name from one of the areas locals, the beaver.  Despite the fact that I forgot to snap a shot of a dam, the picture below of the cattails is an example of part of the creek upstream from a dam.  Beavers are not the only ones to build dams in this area though, young creative minds of children construct small, stone barriers near campgrounds all throughout the park.  Yes, once upon a time, I may have been one of those clever constructors.  I was quite surprised on this visit at this time of year to see the stream running at normal summertime flow at the end of October.
