Knowing what went on within these walls, the 'rooms' were marked by numbers painted on the wall, as can be seen above the headboard in the picture above. Now, the only thing separating Room #9 from Room #8 was bascially a sheet of silk lace, so not all that much privacy or "sound dampering". One part of this section that struck me were some of the items that were apart of these ladies' possessions. Knowing how the availibility of merchandise was, travel conditions were at the time, and that these women came from around the world, what was left behind meant something special to them.
