From the laying of the cornerstone in 1908 to the fitting of the last stone to the tower in 1918, this Gothic style edifice was raised one layer at a time by the hands of the parishioners and of other neighboring churches on "heave-over Sundays". Now standing as one of Havre's oldest churches in it's original setting, Saint Marks has served the local Episcopalian community with a beautiful sanctuary and small school for the children of the congregation for nearly a century. This visit was the first time for me seeing the interior of this graceful granite church and my breath was stolen from me with the stunning colors of the stained glass windows and handsome woodwork from the floor to the timbers.
