Stepping into Holy Trinity - Butte, Montana

The Holy Trinity Orthodox church has been a grand place of pan-Orthodox woship to the butte are for nearly 110 years.  Although established by Serbian miners at the peak of Butte's underground mining era, the church serves her congregation of Serbian, Greek, Irish and German backgrounds today.  The story written in the frescoes was done over a 14 month period by six Serbian iconographers for the capital city of Belgrade from 2003 until the completion of the paintings in 2006.  Each part of the fresco depicts a part of the Scriptures, conveying the message and word of God by the adherence of the Orthodox Church.  This church is somewhat of a hidden gem even to some residents of the area!  My brother has been living in Butte for almost a decade and did not realize the church was in but, let alone the beauty it holds on the inside!  Needless to say, it is a must visit for visitors to the Richest Hill on Earth along with the locals!  Make sure to click on the images to enlarge to see the detail of these amazing frescoes!

Check out this 360 viewing tool from the church's webpage as well!
