City Lights - Havre, Montana

Exploring around the hometown while on leave in late October presented a prime opportunity with the crisp autumn air for some night photography!  The first picture here on the left is one of the newer additions to the city-scape to welcome travelers east bound on Highway 2.  Continuing down First Street, this second picture captures part of the old Downtown that was rebuilt over what is now the historic Havre Beneath the Streets after fires swept through in the early 20th century.
These two shots are from some of the higher points of elevation throughout the area.  First, on the left, I snapped this one from the Highland Cemetery hill looking northeast over the downtown area.  In the right hand picture, I was quite surprised at how the clouds were giving a mellow blue lighting to this one.  Taken from the hill that Legion Field is atop looking south toward the Bear Paw Mountains.  I wish I had a wide angle lens at this point that way I could have caught Saddle Butte as well as the rest of Hospital Hill.

These to are my East vs West shots from above Montana State University Northern.  With my eastern view, I didn't notice the grass that was right in front of me until I was back in the State of Georgia!  Down fall to taking photographs at night - its dark outside!  I did however capture Saddle Butte in this one which turned out sharp and crisp!  Looking west over the campus and towards the north parts of Highland Park, the picture on the left further proves that just because Havre is on the Great Plains, does not mean it has to be Kansas flat!  Pictured below is one of the new signs under development on the western end of Havre.
